Jr welterweight Ricky Hatton unleashed a vicious body attack to score a sixth round TKO over late sub Dennis Holbaek Pedersen Saturday night before a full house at MEN Arena in Manchester, England. Hatton had Pederson down down twice in round four and finished the show with a barrage of punches in round six. Hatton retained his WBU 140lb belt.
In the co-feature, IBF interim jr welterweight champion Sharmba Mitchell scored a lopsided twelve round unanimous decision over Mike "No Joke" Stewart to retain his IBF belt. Mitchell had Stewart on the deck in rounds four, five and nine, but Stewart managed to go the distance. Scores were 117-109, 120-106 and 120-105.
